We are looking for an experienced Assembly Manager to manage our assembly department, which consists of a team of about 30 assembly workers.

As Assembly Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and output of the department.  This includes overseeing the complete assembly process, ensuring that all products meet strict quality standards and that they are shipped to our customers on time and correctly.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in managing a team of assembly workers, as well as experience in quality control and production in a custom and project environment. Independent work is combined with a solution-oriented approach and initiatives to optimise workflow. In this regard, the Assembly Manager reports directly to the Managing Director.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the assembly of products for shipment in coordination with external suppliers, our internal sales teams and our project managers.
  • Developing and implementing plans to increase efficiency. Preparing reports on productivity, quality and other statistics. The Assembly Manager works closely with our engineering department to co-develop new production methods.
  • Monitoring stock levels to meet requested delivery deadlines at all times.
  • Implementing quality control procedures to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Providing feedback to employees and to other departments (engineering, purchasing, sales) on possible adjustments to the product and/or process.
  • Continuously training and evaluating employees and creating a working environment that encourages employee engagement and output but also fosters a positive team atmosphere. The Assembly Manager monitors compliance with company values and expected quality of work and makes adjustments where necessary.

Your experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial sciences, business administration or related field
  • 5+ years' experience in an assembly or production management role
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding production targets through excellent leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
