The Natural History Museum in London exhibits a vast range of specimens from various eras of natural history. It is home to life and earth science specimens comprising some 80 million items within five main collections: botany, entomology, mineralogy, palaeontology, and zoology.
“Fantastic beasts and where to find them” is a fantasy film based on the book of J.K. Rowling. The film is a spin-off to the Harry Potter series. “Fantastic Beasts™: The Wonder of Nature” is an exhibition at the Natural History Museum of London in collaboration with the BBC Studios Natural History Unit and Warner Bros.
After the exhibition in London, an international tour is planned. For this reason, Meyvaert provided 46 demountable showcases. The client wanted maximum flexibility in the arrangement of the showcases: a system that is easy to assemble, pack, transport, store and adapt to match the interior of the various locations. To meet these requirements, the NHM chose 10 cases from our modular demountable Infinity system. In addition, we designed large demountable freestanding cases, many of which were integrated within the walls. For these cases, we made easy demountable front frames.
Thanks to the imaginative setworks which incorporate our cases, this exhibition is one of the most spectacular touring shows to be created by the NHM.
